NAACP CALLS OUT ENVIRONMENTAL INJUSTICES STATEWIDE IMPACTING THE BLACK COMMUNITY
~NAACP says media reports continue to highlight these environmental issues and immediate action is needed. ~
“Enough is enough! We have environmental injustice right before our eyes and we need statewide action today. From remains found dealing with the Dozier School for Boys, two weeks ago a revelation that 145 graves were found beneath King High School in Tampa, now today’s discovery of potential burial grounds in Tallahassee at the Capital City Country Club, site of a former plantation. The NAACP Florida State Conference calls on the Governor and Legislature to immediately look into this statewide issue impacting the black community and provide immediate funding and other resources including archaeologists to explore these known areas and other unknown areas,” says Adora Obi Nweze, President of NAACP Florida State Conference and member of the National Board of Directors.
